WoW: non-quest adventuring, Connected Realms and more

by on August 14, 2013

With all the furore about EQNext, you could be forgiven for thinking that everyone had forgotten about WoW.

But that’s definitely not the case: with patch 5.4 just around the corner, discussion’s as lively as ever.

Here’s the pick of what the community has been talking about this week:

  • The Godmother highlights what seems to be a huge change in Blizzard’s thinking – their discussion of a growing emphasis on “non-quest adventuring” content.

  • Matthew Rossi sounds the alarm over what he considers an unprecedented exodus of warrior players from the warrior class.

  • The Grumpy Elf is thinking again – and as usual, he’s likely to make you think too. This week, he’s wondering whether gear should drop from anywhere – not just specific mobs – and what effects that would have on the game.

  • And Variant Avatar looks at the proposed Connected Realms – aka server merges – in WoW, and whether they’ll actually solve the problem.

Until I saw who was Twittering about switching out of Warrior, I figured that at first it was due to Warriors getting nerfed a bit in PvP. And they did, even though I –as a Rogue– still prefer to fight a DK in a BG than a Warrior.* At lower levels especially, Warriors cleaned up in BGs, almost as much as Disco Priests did.

I find it very interesting, therefore, that Warriors are suffering in raids by comparison.

*The Warrior has more CC than a DK and makes them more useful than a DK, but the DK does have two things going for them: Army of the Dead and the additional speed needed for AV.

Hello! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect
against hackers? I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on.
Any tips?

I drop a comment each time I especially enjoy a post on a website or I
have something to add to the conversation. It is triggered by
the sincerness displayed in the article I looked at. And after this post WoW: non-quest adventuring, Connected Realms and
more — MMO Melting Pot. I was actually excited enough to
drop a commenta response :) I do have 2 questions for you if it’s okay.

Is it only me or does it look like some of these comments look like
they are left by brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you
are posting on other online sites, I’d like to keep up with you.
Could you make a list every one of your social pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
