To round off this week, we’ve got a bit of a grab-bag of coolness. Yes, it seems that the MMOsphere is starting to recover from its release-stupor, and there are all sorts of new things starting to look shiny on the horizon – or here already…
- For the hundreds of us who have fond memories of Scholomance back in the day, there’s a chance to experience it in a whole new way – in first-person perspective, gorgeous graphics, and Skyrim
- The Neverwinter MMO is starting to look very interesting indeed – and Matt Daniel at Massively has a very thorough writeup of his impressions from level 0 to the cap – “Of course, that’s also assisted by the game’s shining feature: combat. The devs clearly understand how important the “badass factor” is in games like Neverwinter.”
- And two well-known bloggers took a look at Bungie’s new super-ambitious project, Destiny – Chris at Game By Night, who is concerned about some of its precedents and Spinks, who was fascinated by their “7 pillars” design
See you next week!

Neverwinter looks like it has some interesting potential, especially the Foundry. I can imagine that if it is done right, the player created missions could provide the longevity that a theme park mmo otherwise lacks.
I will want to find out more about Neverwinter.
