Buuuut, in general, WoW hasn’t gotten me very far.
Ophelle uses the WoW-as-real-life trick to turn geek-dating on its head with some amusing results. I particularly liked her use of the “real life UI” and the thought of reputations with other people made perfect, geeky sense. She takes a look at the types of responses she’s had from mentioning WoW on a first date and it sounds like it’s surprisingly rare for it to be love-and-gooey-eyes-at-first-sight-positive reaction. Which is good, because gooey eyes aren’t a pretty sight.
But does talking/mumbling/gushing the WoW thing help at all on a date? That’d be telling – go read Ophelle’s conclusion!
