Get Your Chef’s Hat Out For Harvest Festival

by on September 8, 2010

Okay, so this one is a few days old but it’s such a brilliant idea I just have to share it with you. Angelya over at Revive and Rejuvenate is holding a Harvest Festival Bake-Off. Get your Chef’s Hat out and fire the gnomes ovens – this is a quite seriously fun competition with judges n’ real life cookies (or a WoW pet) for the winner.

How do you enter? I’d recommend going to read all the details from Angelya’s post, but the basic concept is you take your favourite recipe and adapt it with ingredients found in World of Warcraft, and mail said recipe to Angelya. Any recipe at all will do.

Personally I think this is a great idea. Harvest Festival has always felt like a nice, homey time in game, but not quite important enough. This just makes it a bit more special. So, what are you waiting for? Chareg to the food vendors!

The Harvest Festival is approaching – this year it starts on Wednesday September 16, and runs until the following Monday … There aren’t any special achievements or titles associated with this holiday, but the Harvest Festival is also a time for feasting and merriment, and in the spirit of the event I’d like to present to you … The Harvest Festival Bake-off! … What are you waiting for?  You have two weeks. Get cooking!

Some people have already started submitting their entries – Beruthiel over at Falling Leaves and Wings has already let us into the secrets of Granny Smith’s Shattrath Surprise.

So, let’s make this a community thing! Whether or not you like cooking (and if you do, great – get into the spirit of it and give Angelya pictures too maybe) what’s your favourite food, and how can you adapt it from Azerothian ingredients? Let us know what you come up with!

Thanks for the shoutout :)  There’s a week to go now until Harvest Festival and so far I only have three entries, so get yours in, everyone!
